| WHEREAS, the State of Missouri, the
residents of its cities, towns, and communities,
have a shared interest in improving the
Patriotism, and true Christian American Heritage
in our children’s education. WHEREAS, our Department of Elementary
and Secondary Education (DESE), Higher
Education, Textbook Publishers, and Elected
Officials, have a responsibility to parents to
advance this purpose of developing Patriotism
fully and that comes from accurately teaching
America’s Godly Heritage and the Christian
Character of the Patriots.
WHEREAS, the quality of life in
Missouri and the Nation depend on the people
having a reliable supply of the truth from
primary source evidence that clearly and
frequently demonstrate the Christian influence
in historical figures, documents, and events.
WHEREAS, the preservation of
liberties in Missouri and the Nation, depend on
a people that are Patriotic to our country.
WHEREAS, an opportunity exists for
Missouri to objectively search primary source
evidence with Christian influence and or
Biblical influence to show the wealth and truth
of our positive Christian Heritage and to come
up with a strategy that establishes timeframes
to make sure that the curriculum addresses these
areas appropriately.
WHEREAS, an opportunity exists for
Missouri to establish a greater Patriotism in
the children of the residents of its cities,
town, and communities, by honoring our nation
and the blood stained sacrifices of the men and
women that have made this country free, and to
remind ourselves of the redundant part of the
Heritage that came about because of Patriotism.
WHEREAS, we have a flag that
represents our Declaration of Independence, to
mean the liberty and justice and happiness that
our Constitution formed, and all these things
coming about by the blood stained sacrifice of
many men and women that gave their lives to
maintain it for their posterity
WHEREAS, allow for a reduction of the
potentially harmful negative impact of teaching
less than the truth and not teaching Patriotism
or the consequences of sovereignty, influence,
indifference, cynicism, etc. will prevail.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the
members of both houses of the 93rd General
Assembly 2nd Regular Session, urge both houses
of the Missouri legislature to adopt a joint
resolution forthwith to see that true positive
Christian Heritage and Patriotism are taught and
articulated in the textbooks and curriculum, and
that it is recommended that a team be created to
oversee DESE, Higher Education, and the Textbook
providers to see that these curriculum changes
take place in all levels of education in
Missouri
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all
schools in the State of Missouri will start each
day in the elementary, middle, and high school
with a Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, that
gives an oath to their country under God and
honors those whose courage, sacrifice, etc. have
made our country free.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all
schools in the State of Missouri will have
textbooks and teachers teaching the truth about
our Founding Fathers and Patriotism in America
in the elementary, middle, high school and
colleges helping to prepare our children to be
better citizens.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all
schools in the State of Missouri will have
textbooks and teachers teaching true Christian
Heritage in the elementary, middle, high school
and colleges to help our children be better
informed and better citizens.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that to the
maximum extent possible, enforcement of such a
program should be delegated to the people of the
State of Missouri.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the
Secretary of the Missouri Joint General Assembly
be instructed to prepare properly inscribed
copies of this resolution for the Majority and
Minority leaders of both houses of the
legislature and the Governor of Missouri.
